For today's daily dose of deep-sea weird, meet the armored searobin! These unusual fish use modified fins to move across the seafloor and branched whiskers in front of their mouths to help them sense food. • This one was seen at 600 meters (1,970 feet) depth during a dive to explore an area south of the Florida Keys in the Straits of Florida. • For additional short videos, visit our Social Media Video Shorts page: https://oceanexplorer.noaa.gov/multim.... • Video courtesy of the NOAA Office of Ocean Exploration and Research, 2019 Southeastern U.S. Deep-sea Exploration. • Learn more about the expedition: https://oceanexplorer.noaa.gov/okeano....
