Phillips Stainless Steel Flat-Head Sheet Metal Screw (2-Piece per Pack); Link to Product/Photo: https://goo.gl/q5YyTA • 4.) Metal coat hanger for the trigger mechanism • 5.) Red Ribbon and pipe cleaner for flag (or whatever you choose to use for flag) • Assembly Instructions (to make quantity 1): • 1.) Get the 8 foot wood plank (item #6 under the Home Depot list above) cut to 4 equal planks that are 22inches long. They will cut the wood for free. Use one of the 22 inch long planks for this assembly and keep the other three if you want to make more. • 2.) Get the 3 foot wood steak baluster (item #7 under the Home Depot list above) cut a 14 inch piece and a 4 inch piece. • 3.) Get the PVC (Item 5 under the Home Depot list above) and cut a 5.5 inch piece (make sure one end of the piece is flat and the other end of the piece is cut at an angle. The angle side will be screwed flush to the plank). • 4.) Take 4 screws (Item #2 under the Items Not on the Home Deport Receipt list above) and screw them through the PVC and onto the 22 inch plank board you made in Step 1. The PVC should be screwed on roughly 1-2 inches from the end of the plank board. Make sure to make pilot holes before you screw in the screws to make it easier on yourself when drilling. • 5.) Screw on the 4 inch piece of wood steak baluster you made in Step 2 to the bottom of the plank at the end side (under the board on the side where the PVC pipe is screwed on) using the 2 inch screws (item #4 in the Items Not on the Home Depot Receipt). The board should now sit at a slight angle. • 6.) Make a pilot hole through the 14 inch piece of wood steak baluster that you made in Step 2 and through roughly the center of the plank. Make sure you drill the hole where you plan to bolt on the wood steak baluster to serve as your balancing mechanism. • 7.) Bolt on the 14 inch wood steak baluster to the plank using item #3 bolt/nut and #4 washer in the Home Depot list above. • 8.) Put your fishing rod in the PVC holder that you screwed on the plank and bend it down to see where you are going to screw on the screw eye (Item #1 in the Home Depot list above). Mark where you will screw on the screw eye. • 9.) Screw on the screw eye to the plank where you marked. • 10.) Attach a key ring (item #2 in the Home Depot list above) to the screw eye. • 11.) Make the trigger mechanism from a metal coat hanger. See the picture of the trigger mechanism at the end of the video for closer visual and help with dimensions. Tip: use pliers (preferably pliers that can cut) to cut and bend the coat hanger. • 12.) Attach the finished trigger mechanism to the key ring on the plank. • 13.) Attach your flag of choice and the pole bell (item #1 in the list of Items Not on the Home Deport Receipt) to your fishing rod. • 14.) Put the rod in position and perform several tests of the trigger mechanism to obtain your desired hook set sensitivity level. • 15.) Post any questions in the comments or email me: [email protected]
