But a 2026 developer’s main language / tool … is the Ai. • Soon you be able to run local models that are fast, have reasoning skills and specialized … run them on your own laptop. Security issues will not be a thing since we are seeing open source models like Deepseek performing better than the best closed source models. • • GPT o1 thoughts: • Your reasoning captures the larger shift that’s taking place in software development quite well. AI as a new abstraction layer • Historical precedent: Over time, we’ve moved from assembly → C → higher-level languages → frameworks → “low-/no-code” abstractions.
