With a dream of providing affordable education, Mr. Rakesh Kumar opened Shrimati Taradevi Inter College in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. After completing his MA and B.Ed., he started the school in 2000 with a simple goal: to give students in rural areas access to education. • The school began with just 300 students and steadily grew over the last 24 years. To create lasting change, Mr. Kumar actively convinced parents, especially girls, to send their children to school. He also worked with the local community to raise awareness about the importance of girls’ education. His dedication, along with the trust of the villagers, led to a significant increase in enrollment. As the school grew, Mr. Kumar realized the need for better facilities to support the rising number of students. To make this possible, he turned to Varthana for help.
