Well it is a crash reporting service and can repost on application crashes to the server daisy.ubuntu.com. It will report on any crash, but I suppose crashes are more related to apps than services. So on a ubuntu server you may want to free up the resources that it uses. Using top and shift + f we can change the fields to sort on to %MEM. With this set we can see that whoopsie is taken the second most RAM on my server. The service is controlled by upsart so I shut the service with sudo initctl stop whoopsie. To ensure it does not start on boot we disable the service with the file /etc/init/whoopsie.override. Just echo out manual to this file. Watch the video for all the gory details
