Dr Noel Nannup is a well-respected Nyoongar Elder in Western Australia. Elders of the Australian indigenous people are recognized as so, not necessarily by age, but because they have earned the respect of their community through the wisdom, harmony, and balance of their actions and in their teachings. Aboriginal Elders are deeply committed to sharing their knowledge, providing guidance, and teaching others to respect the natural world they live in. They teach the people to learn to listen to and feel the rhythms of the elements and the seasons. • In this talk, Noel speaks of the perceptions vs Reality of British anthropology, and how this has affected Aboriginal culture and all culture in Australia. Noel relates this to what we need to do as a people and planet moving forward. PhD/ Public Speaker This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
