In this video we can see trophozoites of Pentatrichomonas hominis and Entamoeba hystolitica. • Pentatrichomonas hominis is a flagellate protozoan belonging to the order Trichomonadida that mainly parasites the large intestine of humans and other mammals. • E. histolytlca and E. dispar are identical to microscopic examination. The former invades tissues and produces lesions by means of the trophozoites. Both produce cysts in the lumen of the colon which are infective orally. These give rise to trophozoites in the intestine. These invade the tissues, or become encyst in the intestinal light, and are eliminated in the fecal matter.
