Like many computers of the time, the QL came with a built-in BASIC programming language called SuperBASIC. Although powerful for its time, it was tied to the shell and slow. You could write programs but they could not take advantage of the power of the QL's multitasking kernel. With SuperCharge, you could create a stand-alone task (executable) that could run in the background, along with other tasks.
