UPDATE (September 2021): Hello! As things stand, it seems like this video is becoming more and more outdated as time goes on, and I'm seeing more people who's issues aren't getting resolved with the help of this video. This is likely because of 1 of 2 things: • -The route I use to fix the issue has been patched through a few years of Focusrite/Mac OS updates, and isn't the correct way to go about it anymore. • -For some individuals, the issue has less to do with their OS' compatibility with the product and more to do with an outside variable that I had zero idea how to resolve. To be perfectly honest, I barely have any experience with this issue as it is, and only really compiled research that led to my solution of this problem at that time. • I'm keeping the video up for this point in time, but I will probably delete it/private it in the near future. As I see it based on comments, it's not helping/potentially only making things worse now. If the video does help you, let me know through comments and I can consider keeping the video up, so long as it is benefiting at least a select few. • That's pretty much it. If the video doesn't work for you, and you're trying to figure out a solution elsewhere, my suggestions would be to research whether you could use a Virtual Machine and purchase a copy of Window 10 to get this to work, or just don't invest in Apple Products anymore. Since this video's creation, I've jumped back on Windows, and the Focusrite works like a dream there. Since I managed to solve it, I figured I'd make this video to help the people like me who had a hard time finding properly explained directions elsewhere. Guided steps will also be further down in the description. • -1. Unplug the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 from your computer to prevent further crashing. • -2. Open Finder on your Mac. • -3. With Finder open, hold Command, Shift, and G at the same time. • -4. With this new search engine open, type in the following file extension: /System/Library/Extensions • -5. Look for Scarlett2ndGen.kext • -6. Throw that dirty bastard in the trash, then empty your trash. • -7. Go take out your real trash. • -8. Restart your computer. • -9. Voila!
