http://www.tomrichey.net • When studying the Age of Enlightenment, it's important to know who the Enlightenment thinkers were and what they wrote, but for this knowledge to make sense, it needs to be seen within a larger context of the overall values of the Enlightenment. I have selected five values that I think explain the general mindset of the Enlightenment thinkers (philosophes): reason, science, progress, liberty, and toleration.
