Goal Seek in Excel works by calculating what value will give you your desired formula result by changing a certain input. For example, if you need to know how many units you need to sell in order to reach your revenue goal. • One of Excel's What-if Analysis tools, Goal Seek lets you set the value you'd like for your formula to result in.
