Dry fruits kheer is the best way to have various nutrients in your diet. Mewa Kheer is one such recipe that can be prepared quickly. • Ingredients • Lotus seeds - ½ cup • Sugar - ¼ cup • Dry coconut – 1 to 2 inch piece • Cashews – 10 to 12 • Almonds – 10 • Raisins – 2 tbsp • Green cardamom – 3 to 4 • Pistachios – 8 to 10 • Chironji – 1 tbsp • Full cream milk - ½ litre (2.5 cups) • Directions • Getting ready: • 1.Chop down the lotus seeds, cashews and almonds into small chunks.Thinly slice the coconut and pistachios. Then crush the seeds of green cardamom using mortar pestle. • Making: • 2.Start with boiling the milk in a vessel. When the milk starts simmering, add lotus seeds, cashews, almonds, chironji, raisins and coconut to the milk and give a nice stir to mix everything nicely. Cook the kheer until it gets dense in consistency. Keep stirring after 2 to 3 minutes. • 3.After 10 minutes, add the sugar and crushed green cardamom to the kheer and stir nicely. Turn off the flame and cover the kheer for 2 minutes.
