These are examples from a parallax node system that I built for Blender, which makes flat textures appear more 3D. These examples are not ‘renders’ as such, they are recorded in real-time from the material preview, using a standard Blender plane. • For anyone unfamiliar with parallax materials, there are no subdivisions, tessellations, or extra geometry here, just the orange wireframe that you can see, all of the 3D effects are done using materials. • I'm currently writing a walkthrough of how I created this, and I have just published 'Part 2' which you can find on my ArtStation • https://www.artstation.com/loftus/blo... • Examples include: • Roughness/Specularity, • Emission, • Animation, • Tiling, and Height controls. • The final example (Mushrooms) shows overhangs, and some cascading transforms that I used to make the mushrooms lean over. • Music is by Ben Tissot -- bensound.com
