Mauna Kea, technically the worlds highest mountain at 13,803 ft, is pretty much a show stopper! When driving around on the Big Island of Hawaii, you can see its prominence from almost anywhere. Recognized as one of the best hikes in Hawaii, this trek was nothing short of breathtaking (literally). • At the end of March 2021 we decided to ascend and summit this beautiful and sacred landmark. Hawaii history regards this mountain as a shrine for worship and as a ceded lands trust, that the state of Hawaii must protect and preserve. • In this video we will hike this magnificent mountain and share our experience with anyone that would like to see or learn more about the mountain.
