Start a no-till garden! • We started in September 2010 by mowing the grass low, covering it with wet newspaper and topping it off with a nice 2 layer of mushroom soil. The wet spring didn't stop me from planting early. Since I did not need to turn the soil, I started planting seeds and plants as soon as the temperatures were right.
