Class 3 On Morphosyntax

>> YOUR LINK HERE: ___ http://youtube.com/watch?v=3BoW7Apo9SQ

In this class, we first discuss similarities and differences between Traditional and Generative approaches to the study of Grammar and characterize the former as descriptive (taxonomic, function-and-category based) and the latter as both descriptive and explanatory (of both grammaticality and ungrammaticality). Next, we talk about the constituents of Traditional Grammar (sentence, clause, phrase, word and morpheme) and problematize categories such as word and sentence (given that their statuses can be quite controversial). Finally, we make reference to the categories free and bound morphemes in order to introduce our discussion on morphological analysis. • --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- • Content Edition: FM Language (© All rights reserved). • Music: https://www.bensound.com/ • www.fmlanguage.com • If you wish to take lessons with us (both onsite and/or online), just write to us at [email protected], or post a comment below with your e-mail address and we will contact you as soon as possible!
