The Himalayas are a part of Bharatiya Culture and Tradition, which is where the most sacred teertha kshetras are located.In This talk Dr. Fonia highlights the importance of the Himalayas and our responsibilities towards the King Of Mountains. • About The Speaker: • Dr. Fonia was born and raised in the lap of the Himalayas with moorings in Chamoli, Garhwal, India. His experiences with nature encouraged him to pursue a doctorate in socioeconomic and cultural studies of the Himalayas. Dr. Fonia is widely recognized for his research work in the Himalayas. He was the Director of the myriad sections of the Archaeological Survey of India, including the National Mission on Monuments and Artefacts, World Heritage, Exploration and Excavation, Antiquities and the Competent Authority of National Monuments. He also functioned as a Member Secretary of the Central Advisory Board of Archaeology, Ministry of Culture, National Screening and Evaluation Committee for Antiquities, Government of India.
