Chemo infusion treatment can be a complicated or confusing process. That’s why the Penn Medicine Abramson Cancer Center is here to make sure your visit is as easy and comfortable as possible. • There are a few things you can do in advance to ensure a smooth visit: • 1. Stay hydrated • 2. Eat as you normally would • 3. Take medications exactly as prescribed • After checking in on the day of your infusion, you will have your blood drawn so that your sample can be used to formulate your customized treatment for this visit. • If you’re scheduled to see your doctor or nurse on treatment day, you will visit them while your lab results are processed and your treatment dose is prepared. Please not that it may take a while for your treatment to be ready. This is because every dose is customized exactly to your specifications on the day of your treatment.
