UBC Okanagan hosted the 2023 GNCTR in January 2023. The multi-day, student-led event brought universities from across Canada to race their hand-built concrete toboggans down Big White. 15 competing teams plus four non-competing teams, brought more than 385 participants to Kelowna. Although the UBCO team did make the podium, they have a track record of success in the event, including podium finishes at several events including second overall the last time the competition was held in Kelowna.
