NASA Dryden FRC on 15Feb1990: SR-71A (NASA tail number 844) flies right over Bldg. 4800, delivered from USAF. This video was shot on Thursday morning from the ramp with a VHS video camera rented from the Dryden equipment trailer. Two flybys were performed that morning, the first being a smooth low speed pass, the second an awesome skeleton rattling pass. This is video of the second pass. The USAF SR-71 pilot is Lt. Col. Terry Pappas. Vibration from the sound pressure waves distorted the video tape during the recording, something that I noticed during the very first playback. Most of the personnel on the ramp were NASA Dryden employees and contractors. You can see the famous test pilot Bill Dana, as well as an F-104, a T-38, and a very famous B-52 (tail number 0008) in the background shots. • Here's a link to an interesting list of all that have flown the Blackbird. There are some interesting NASA names on it. Thank-you, Ellen! • http://www.sr71.us/Supp_BBook.htm
