LMS Jubilee 45596 Bahamas speeds along the WCML Blackpool Illuminations Express

http://hattons.london/fullsteamahead - Here's the link to Flying Scotsman Centenary Gold Sovereign Coins by Hattons of London. • LMS Jubilee Class 45596 Bahamas is seen hauling the Blackpool Illuminations Express from Birmingham to Blackpool along the Jubilee's old stomping ground on the West Coast Main Line. It's new territory for me as I rarely filmed on the West Coast Main Line. The tour was operated by Vintage Trains and they acquired Bahamas to haul the tour to give her extra legs on the mainline this year. 45596 Bahamas has not been seen much on the mainline this year, due to WCRC and their ongoing dispute over CDL fitting. As a result, the locomotive didn't return to railtour duties until October when the loco hauled the Shakespeare Express. After an impressive performance, Bahamas was in fine form again on her own territory. • This was new territory for me as I haven't filmed much on the West Coast Main Line and with a Jubilee in full cry in the offing, I couldn't miss this opportunity. I filmed Bahamas twice along the WCML, both had different conditions. The first shot was at Mill Meece between Stafford and Crewe in decent autumn conditions. The weather was chilly, but was also sunny which made it even better compared to first thing this morning. The Jubilee was running a few minutes late, however, she was on the fast line which was lovely to see and the engine sounded magnificent taking the heavy load by herself. My next shot was at Winsford along the Shropshire Union Canal near Crewe to capture Bahamas roaring away from Crewe heading for Manchester and Blackpool. The weather changed completely. From a decent sunny morning to a bleak, drizzly and misty shot. The engine left Crewe 15 minutes late, but she was still sounding marvellous as the loco thunders through the countryside and over the canal heading towards Blackpool, brightening the doom and gloom most definitely. • I hope you enjoy the video.
