This ordinary differential equations video explains the method of variation of parameters for solving linear non-homogeneous second-order equations with constant coefficients. We describe how to find the particular function by calculating Wronskians. This method is a combination of the method of reduction of order and Cramer's rule for solving systems of equations in algebra. Variation of Parameters does not require you to know a particular form, as in the method of undetermined coefficients, but it does rely on the expressions we get from the Wronskians being integrable. We work an introductory example to show how the method works, and we give a summary of the steps in the method at the end of the video. • 0:00 Intro to the method • 3:42 Example • 10:23 Summary of the method • Houston Math Prep Differential Equations Playlist:    • Differential Equations   • Houston Math Prep YouTube:    / houstonmathprep
