This video shows how to replace the gear case ( gearbox) on a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer, model number WTW5640XW3. The bearings went bad in my washer and also took out the seal in the gear case, causing it to leak water out the gear box. The bearings are not replaceable by them self unfortunately as the gear case is welded together. If the tube seal was leaking you would follow the same steps to remove the gear case, and reinstall everything. • The local repair shop wanted over $200 to install the gear case which only took about one hour to do. The parts are cheap online, although I overpaid for them as the repair shop could get them the next day. • This was easy to do, the hardest part was pulling the washer basket off the shaft. The use of a jack to press the basket off the shaft will be necessary. Make sure the wood is pressing against the metal lip in the washer basket, not the plastic. And use a good and thick piece of wood (. 2x4 or 4x4). • If this video has helped you please SUBSCRIBE!!! • Subscribers are a major help to me • Thanks for watching. • If you would like to help in these projects please take a look at our Amazon list. • https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls...
