Behavioral ecology is a subfield of ecology concerned with the ethological aspect of the ecosystems, that is the behaviours of higher animals that belong to those ecosystems. So mainly the behavior ecologists focus on why these behaviours are produced by organisms and how it affects their fitness and the ecosystem as a whole. There are some forces that control behaviours of animals in the wild. Two of which are mentioned in the video, which are kin and sexual selection. Kin selection is basically the evolutionary force that compels animals to behave altruistically for the greater good of its colony or species, while sexual selection is the evolutionary force that compels male animals to fight for mating with females. • Hope you had fun and learned something from this topic.
