Romero has been true to the goals adressed on the FAQ, Sigil feels very vanilla and is a step up in detail and difficulty from E4. There are a few odd design choices by today's standards (and a couple of weak levels imho), but Sigil is a different kind of beast than the wads released nowadays, and in my particular case I like it a lot, but people expecting contemporary Doom gameplay may not like it.
