In this episode I will show you how I create the custom brass plaques, using ferric chloride and other cheap and simple tools and basic chemistry, such as ammonia for creating the ancient look. • Step-by-step instruction: • 1. Clean the workpiece with fine sandpaper (600 Grit or finer), polish and degrease it with alcohol or acetone; • 2. Print out (as a mirror image) your nameplate using a laser printer and glossy photo paper; • 3. Glue the printed image to the workpiece with iron; • 4. Wash the workpiece with water to leave only toner on it; • 5. Make ferric chloride solution (1 part of FeCl3 with 3 parts of water). Put the ferric chloride in water, NOT vice versa; • 6. Etch the workpiece within 15-20 minutes; • 7. Rinse the workpiece under running water; • 8. Place the workpiece in ammonia vapors for 10-15 minutes; • 9. Polish the relief parts of the workpiece on the felt wheel; • 10. Protect the plaque with a transparent lackuer; • 11. Voila! • #Brass • #Plaque • #FerricChloride • #Nameplate • #Etching • #EtchingBrass • #ammonia • SUBSCRIBE or you'll miss out!    / @letsrestoreit8689
