A University of Melbourne researcher is using her knowledge of gifted children in their formative educational years to help better inform and teach these bright youngsters. • Visions talks to Dr Anne Grant, a former pre-school teacher, who followed the lives of seven gifted children for one full academic year in Melbourne watching them interact and integrate into preschool and prep. She also talked with parents and teachers to gain a full understanding of how gifted children manage and integrate in their first years of formal education. • For more information, check out the article 'Managing giftedness in early childhood' in this months edition of Voice: http://voice.unimelb.edu.au/volume-8/... • You can also check it out on the Melbourne Newsroom: http://newsroom.melbourne.edu/news/n-741 • Produced by Ingrid Sanders • Camera by Pete Garnish (Production Video) • Edited by Rob Cross • With thanks to all the staff and parents at the Early Learning Centre, as well as the Melbourne Graduate School of Education. • © The University of Melbourne, 2012.
