With this video, GIZ’s sector project Sustainable Rural Areas explains how territorial approaches reveal potentials for the sustainable development of rural areas and enable better development planning on site. • Territorial approaches take local needs and ecological, socio-economic, political or cultural potentials of rural areas into account. They go beyond sectorial isolated views and consider diverging interests, promote multi-stakeholders engagement and foster a multi-level approach. Furthermore, they call for better integrated and gender-sensitive development strategies that identify priorities and investment needs.
