Today we are going to learn how to connect your QL-810W label printer to a mobile device using Wi-Fi direct. • This video will cover multiple models. Even though your machine may not match the model referred to on the screen the overall process will be the same. (Covers QL-820NWB as well) • Wi-Fi Direct is a secure wireless interface that allows you to connect your Brother machine to a mobile device without using a router. To set up Wi-Fi direct on your machine will require the one-time use of a computer and the included USB cable. • To begin, download the Printing Setting Tool and Printer Driver for your model from www.brother-usa.com/support and install them. Then verify that your machine is connected to your computer with a USB cable. After the installation ends, the cable will no longer be necessary, but be sure to keep it connected until setup is finished. • --Click here for more information on downloading drivers: • How to download software, drivers, or... • To open the Printer Setting Tool, click on Start, then All Programs. Click on Brother, then Label Mobile Printer, and then Printer Setting Tool. • Once the Printer Setting Tool opens, select your model from the dropdown menu. Click on “Communication Settings” • Under the “General” tab, click “Communication Settings” then navigate to the “Selected Interface” dropdown and select your connection type. • Select “Wireless Direct” to connect directly to mobile devices without a router • Or select “Infrastructure and Wireless Direct” to allow both direct connections and router based networks • Click Apply to save the settings. Then click “OK” • Navigate to the Wireless Direct tab. Then click on “Wireless Direct Settings” • Record your password from the Network Key field. • Click “Exit” • Click “Exit” again • You can now disconnect the USB cable from your Brother machine. • On your mobile device, check for available connections. The Wi-Fi direct option will display as DIRECT” followed by the model number of your Brother machine.
