My kayak expedition on the deepest lake of the world, the Lake Baikal in East Siberia, Russia was an ordeal at the limit for me and my equipment. • 1 Mile deep, 2.000 km (1,250 m) coastline and only 2 °C (35,6 °F) water temperatur in summer! It's holding 25 % of the world's freshwater, endemic freshwater seals bobbing there and unfortunately, too many hungry grizzlies in spring, • which did not understand one word in English!
