Meeting one of Kyoto’s Geisha is a magical and memorable experience. • They say that you are lucky if you can spot a Geisha in Japan since they are almost a disappearing tradition. Well, tonight we have been lucky enough to spot seven between Maiko and Geiko on their way to work. • I'm so impressed how fast and gorgeous they are! • What’s the difference between a Maiko and a Geiko? • Maiko wear colorful kimono and appear with their own hair worn up with a variety of extravagant hairpins, while geiko wear plainer kimono and appear wearing relatively unadorned wigs.
