In this video I demonstrate how I created a Collagraph print consisting of 2 perspex plates combining different drypoint, monoprint and viscosity printing techniques. • 0:00 Introduction explaining the process • 10:00- Preparing the first collagraph plate • 12:12- Preparing second monoprint plate • 13:20 - Inking up the monoprint plate of the 1st print • 17:25- Colours • 17:47- Printing the monoprint plate of the 1st print • 18:40- Inking up the collagraph plate of the first print • 19:52- Printing the collagraph plate of the 1st print • 20:43- Inking up monoprint plate of the 2nd print • 21:36- Printing the monoprint plate of the 2nd print • 22:07- Inking up collagraph plate of the 2nd print • 23:32-End Printing the collagraph plate of the 2nd print • MATERIALS • Intaglio Inks: Sepia, Madder Lake, Primrose Yellow, Ultramarine Blue, Zinc White, Wiping Compound all by Intaglio Printmaker • Media: Matt Acrylic • Paper: Printmaking Paper 300gsm cards • Linseed Oil for making ink more viscous • Vegetable Oil and White Spirit for cleaning up • Newsprint Paper • 2 x Perspex Sheets • Old newspaper for wiping etc • Scrim for wiping off ink and for plate texture • Tools: Paint brush, Palette Knife, Dry point needle, card • Polymetaal Press HS-35 Tabletop Etching Press • • 👉 Please subscribe here - / @collagraphprinting • #collagraph • #drypoint • #monoprint • Drypoint is the earliest process of printing an image, which is cut into a metal surface to create grooves . Ink is rolled over the plate and prints only on the highest areas. • Monoprinting is more like drawing with ink. A non-reproducing print technique. Also, this term refers to works created in multiple by applying ink or paint to the same surface repeatedly or simultaneously with different colors of paint or inks that do not mix .
