Today this is Switzerland. • 1381 • Sempach, a small village wanted to belong to the swiss confederation. Because the duke Leopold of Habsburg hector them with high taxes and promotions. The Entelbucher, the villagers of Sempach had luck. The Swiss Confederation did not want anymore longer be Habsburger dependen. • the Confederation attacked Sempach. They expelled the Habsburg knights and the villagers who thought differently were also expelled or killed. • Duke Leopold of Habsburg had the plan to take revenge on the confederation. He wanted to attack the city Zurich. The confederation knows the plan of Leopold. • The Habsburgs, however, had changed the plan unnoticed. Instead of Zurich, they attacks Bern, today's Capital of Switzerland. The Confederation did not know that. • • 1387 • A Swiss army patrolled the area. Fortuitously they met the Invasion of the habsburger. • The Habsburger had 4000 sword and spearmen’s, • 1500 Italian and Habsburg cavalry.
