Samantha is an unassuming young woman, a volunteer counselor for victims of rape and sexual assault. Now, faced with one of her first clients, she finds herself tormented by the memory and effects of her own horrific experience. She struggles under the watchful eye of a callous nurse who perceives Samantha's weakness and has little faith in her abilities.
