Grade 2 Aural Tests Spot The Difference

Listening and identifying a change in either pitch or rhythm within a short phrase of music. Suitable for candidates preparing for ABRSM Grade 2 practical exams. For this test the examiner will play a phrase twice and on the second playing there will be an alteration either to the pitch or to the rhythm. The candidate will be asked to identify the change as “pitch” or “rhythm” and to give some idea as to where the change occurred. This video gives plenty of hints and tips and explores examples of pitch changes (a note being higher or lower) and of rhythm changes (a difference in note length). Lots of examples then help you to develop your aural skills so you can give a confident response in this test.
