He is regarded as one of the most influential figures of the 20th century for his contributions in the field of phenomenology and existentialism. • Existentialism is a philosophical method or approach which lays stress on the existence of the individual person as a free being, responsible for their development through the acts of freedom of will. • Existential Phenomenology is associated with Heidegger’s philosophy because it is in contrast with the pure phenomenology advocated by his mentor, Edmund Husserl. • According to Husserl’s method, the emphasis is put on epistemology- pure phenomenology, • Whereas Heidegger’s method puts ontology before epistemology. Advocating existential phenomenology. • Existential phenomenology deals with studying, observing and analysing the concept of Dasein (being-there). • The concept of Dasein: Heidegger comes up with the concept of ontological difference. • The difference between “what is an entity” and “the being of that entity” is the ontological difference. • The latter is more important for him. According to him, the being of an entity deals with the meaningful presence of an entity within the range of human experience. • So, the human entity which is distinguished by the awareness of being of other entities including the being of itself is what is called Dasein. • The word he uses for human beings is Dasein. • The two features of Dasein are; Being and Temporality. • Dasein’s own being is temporal not in the chronological sense but in the existential sense. Hence, it is always oriented towards the future (dasein- “ek-sists”). • It stands out from all the other beings because it is self reflective, it is becoming itself and ultimately becoming its own death (mortality is the core theme of his philosophy). Corresponding a proper and improper understanding of Dasein entails the proper and improper understanding of the Beings around the world (beings in general). • Being is essentially relationality. Therefore, there is no use of word consciousness and subjectivity with it. • Introduction @0:06 • The Concept of Daseinf Dasein @1:11 • Becoming @2:57 • All Readiness @3:31 • Presence @3:46 • Being and Nothingness @4:16 • Man as Being in the World @6:07 • Critique of Technological Civilisation @7:28 • #Essentially • #Manifests • #Embracing • #Reflective • #Entails • #Awareness • #Distinguished • #Advocating • #Contribution • #Influential • #philosophy • #Martinheidegger • #dasein • #civilisation • NCERT, Yojana, Kurukshetra, Down to Earth, Science, Social Studies and More interesting topics subscribe at Examrace:    / examrace   • NCERT, Yojana, Kurukshetra, Down to Earth, Science, Social Studies and More interesting topics subscribe at ExamraceHindi:    / examracehindi   • For kids videos subscribe to FunProf:    / funprof   • For Science Class 11-12 and important topics subscribe to DoorStepTutor:    / doorsteptutor   • 0:00 Introduction • 0:07 Introduction • 1:12 The concept of Daseinf Dasein • 4:16 Being and Nothingness • 6:08 Man as Being in the World • 7:28 Critique of Technological Civilisation #ugcnet #doorsteptutor #examrace
