Three remaining cooling towers at the disused Didcot. A power station in Oxfordshire was demolished on Sunday morning. The station's northern towers, which stood at 114.3 metres (375ft), were brought down using explosive charges. Minutes after the demolition, thousands of people in the area said they suffered a temporary loss of power. Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSE) initially denied the demolition was to blame but said later the two were 'probably linked'. • Subscribe to Guardian News on YouTube ► http://bit.ly/guardianwiressub • Didcot power station: homes without electricity after towers demolished ► https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2... • Support the Guardian ► https://support.theguardian.com/contr... • Today in Focus podcast ► https://www.theguardian.com/news/seri... • The Guardian YouTube network: • The Guardian ► / theguardian • Owen Jones talks ► http://bit.ly/subsowenjones • Guardian Football ► http://is.gd/guardianfootball • Guardian Sport ► http://bit.ly/GDNsport • Guardian Culture ► http://is.gd/guardianculture
