To Comodoro Rivadavia and Trelew

We lifted early from El Calafate and with a strong tailwind easily made Comodoro, a city in the Patagonian province of Chubut in southern Argentina, located on the San Jorge Gulf, an inlet of the Atlantic Ocean, at the foot of the Chenque Hill. It was gorgeous, remote steppe once again and cold at -5C. The geographical features arriving at Comodoro were quite spectacular and the city spreads about them. With Argentinian efficiency, we were soon on our way northwards for a two-hour flight to Trelew in northeastern Patagonia. Welsh immigrants who arrived in the 1880s apparently left their legacy in buildings here. It was a bumpy ride with another strong crosswind adjacent the hills around Comodoro and then we were treated to absolute flatness for a good hour before overflying Trelew to a balmy 20C.
