It's important to consider the right approach for you with your medical team. • Transcript: • You doctor has just prescribed for you a drug call Xeloda or capecitabine. It is simply a pill form of 5FU which is a very important drug that we use in all GI tract cancers. • There are a bunch of different ways to give this medicine and they're two pill sizes. In our shop, we simplify, we only use one pill size which is the 500 milligram tablet. You take it twice a day, standard is two weeks in a row, one week off, but a lot of us fiddle with that. Either every other week, seven days on, seven off. Or even five days on, two days off every week. Sort of a continuous dosing. • • And so talk with your doc and your team about how they've recommended the dosing. There are different strategies, different side effects, different ways of thinking about it. So be clear, there's not one size fits all for this medicine.
