Hello, this video is an introduction into what is a cardiac catheterization nurse. Cardiac Cath RNs work in what is commonly called the cath lab in healthcare settings. We are responsible for providing care to cardiac patients as they undergo diagnostic or emergent cardiac procedures. In this video i discuss what a cardiac cath lab nurse does. The cath lab rn may act in three different roles as well as be a pre and post procedure nurse. The Cardiac cath lab is a fast paced environment that provides an exceptional level of care to cardiac patients. Cardiac Cath RNs work to prepare patients in pre-op, circulate during procedures and recover patients post procedure.
