Simon is presenting backward-curved fans without housing, commonly known as plug fans. Plug fans are typically used in air-handling units (AHUs) and air-conditioning units. • Simon is showing two products, namely the EC RadiCal fan and EC RadiPac fan, who differ in their pressure, airflow and application areas. • RadiCal backward curved EC fans • The RadiCal fan is an injection-moulded composite product, and the HyBlade impeller is designed to optimise airflow through the product. The back face of the impeller was changed to maximise efficiency of airflow through the fan, and the outlet was changed to ensure high static efficiency. • The fan is typically used for lower pressure drops, around 750-800 Pa, i.e. typically air-conditioning and ventilation units. • RadiPac backward curved EC fans • The RadiPac is a backward-curved fan assembled into a cube-type mount, which allows for easy assembly inside and air-handling unit. It also allows for the product to be mounted on anti-vibration mounts at the bottom, if specified. The impeller is a welded aluminium impeller that allows for high pressure drops to be generated, typically around 1,500-1,800 Pa static pressure. • Assembly • The practicality of the RadiPac fan is shown in the video, in that it is easily maneouverable and assembled into an air-handling unit. The fan shown has an impeller diameter of 630mm and provides an air flow of 4,200l/s at 1,000 Pa. • Backward-curved fans without scroll, commonly known as plug fans, are readily available from ebm-papst A NZ, and we carry a wide range of both RadiCal and RadiPacs in stock. • Please contact us for more info: http://www.ebmpapst.com.au/en/product...
