In this video, I show you how to create the Lateral Braid. Also known as the Vikkel Braid or the Estonian Braid . • This technique is used in my pattern Mirkwood : • http://whiletheyplaydesigns.com/2014/... • I've played around with this method a bit and have found the best way to create the braid without having it interfere with your gauge is to go down 4 needle sizes for the row just BEFORE your lateral braid as well as the lateral braid itself. This creates smaller stitches from which to knit off of for the remainder of your pattern, giving you nice, uniform stitches and an even gauge. • I hope you try this technique out and that this video helps you.
