In fact, individual Song Sparrows have been observed singing up to TWENTY different tunes, with as many as 1,000 slight variations! • Because their sounds and calls are so clear, they are relatively easy for people to identify. • The best places to find them singing their mating calls are on exposed branches, about eye level, near a permanent water source. • This recording was made in my backyard in Ohio!
