Art collector Leonard Lauder describes the events that brought together early cubist painters Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso. Lauder shares photos and stories from the artists' collaborative period. Picasso copied Braque, notes Lauder. He describes the influences that moved Picasso's work from a 3-dimensional analytical cubism to a 2-dimensional synthetic cubism. • Leonard A. Lauder is Chairman Emeritus of the Aspen Institute and Chairman Emeritus of The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. He is an avid supporter of several museums, including the Whitney Museum of American Art and The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
