When you put fire inside the water jug, the air inside heats up and expands. Then, if you close the jug and let it cool down, the air inside contracts as it cools, reducing the internal pressure. Since the external air pressure is higher than the internal pressure, the jug collapses inward and shrinks. • This phenomenon demonstrates the effect of air pressure and temperature change. Plastic jugs, being flexible, respond quickly to this pressure difference and shrink easily. • • #physics
