Tuna fishing off North Carolina's Outer Banks and the Virginia Beach area was epic during the spring of 2020, a season delayed with restrictions due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. Once charter boats were able to open for business, anglers found willing fish, especially huge schools of yellowfin and bigeye tuna. The Outdoors Rambler trip of June 12, 2020 aboard the Trophy Hunter skippered by Capt. Kenneth Brown (Oregon Inlet Fishing Center) was incredible with near nonstop action until the meat box on the boat overflowed with yellowfin. We stayed at the Lady Jane beach house in Nags Head, leaving the marina at 4:45 a.m. We began fishing at 6:30. By 9:45 a.m., it was time to head back to the marina. I can't recall a trip where the action was so constant and the fish of such quality. Ahi tuna will be on the menu for some time! Check out this fast-paced video.
