Robb sails 100 DIY sailboat at Lake Dumpwater Florida

I have been experimenting with converting a cheap Wal-Mart inflatable boat into a simple sailboat. I made such a sailboat years ago, but the rudder broke off the first time I ran aground and I discontinued using the inflatable boat after that. • I recently saw Jim Luckett on you tube who makes and sails a variety of inflatables using a steering oar instead of using a rudder. I decided to make steering oars and convert my boat to a sailboat. Check Jim Luckett's channel out, he has some good stuff, and if you subscribe to his channel, tell him I sent you. • • Inflatable Sailboat Twirling and Swer... • The video I am posting today shows my first sailing trial of my inflatable sailboat.. There was no wind for almost the entire time, and then just moments before a heavy rain I got some decent wind. It was not a complete success. • Some things I made for the boat worked well, some things did not. I was not able to find out as much as I needed from this sail, but saw several things I can change to make the boat sail better. • I will be posting a video later showing the construction and detailed costs of the boat and the anticipated changes I will be making.
