It is one of the very few places in Kerala to have such large stretch of paddy fields. Kachakurissi temple of Lord Vishnu is a prominent destination for tourists and pilgrims. This ancient temple is considered as the Tirupathi of Kerala. It is believed to have been built by the famous Sage Vyasa who observed penance in a nearby hill known as “Govinda Malai” just behind the temple. The Kollengode Palace and yearly festivals are also significant attractions in Kollengode. The Kollengode Kovilakam is a prominent place in Kollengode, which is a testimony to the events of history at Kollengode.
