This video shows you step by step how to make and sew and crib sheet for a standard crib mattress or toddler bed. This is a great diy project for your baby nursery! My daughter loves pink and she needed more sheets, so I decided to make her a sheet from a lovely Anna Maria Horner voile fabric. • Blog: http://www.melaniekham.com • Facebook:   / melaniehamdesigns   • Twitter: https://twitter.com/#!/melanieham • Pinterest:   / melanieham   • Instagram:   / melaniekham   • Snapchat: MelanieKHam • Materials • 2 yards fabric (at least 44 inches wide) 100% Cotton is great! Mine is Voile. Prewash. • 78 inches of 1/4 inch elastic • tape measure • thread • scissors or rotary blade • pins • iron • sewing machine • Standard crib mattress is 52 x 27 x 6 • adjust your measurements if your crib is not this size. • Cut your fabric 67 inches by 44/45 inches. • Cut out an 8 inch square in each corner as shown in the video • Right sides together, sew the corners of the sheet and finish the seam with a zig zag • Iron and stitch around the outside of the sheet to create a casing for the elastic • Sew the casing closed to the folded edge leaving a 1 inch space • Using a safety pin, thread the elastic through the casing • Attach the 2 ends of the elastic with a zig zag stitch. • Close the 1 inch gap on the casing • Comment below if you have questions!
