In this video I go step by step through the process of rebluing your gun at home. This is a nitre bluing process similar to what you see on old colt pistols. It uses molten saltpeter to evenly heat the metal to blue the surfaces. This process is dangerous and should not be attempted if you understand it fully and understand the dangers of working with molten salt. • The most expensive part was buying the potassium nitrate stump killer which was $6 per 1# bottle. I also bought some Vinegar $4/2 gallons at Sams, WD-40 and some junk pans from the thrift store.
